Hear This Privacy Policy

Hear This is provided by G Tree LLC. You can use the app without an account. This policy explains how information is handled by the app, optional accounts, purchases, our website and support.
Using Hear This without an account
Without an account, your progress, settings and saved tool content remain on your device rather than synchronizing to a Hear This learner account.
Removing the app does not delete an existing online account or cancel an Apple subscription.
Optional accounts and synchronization
Signing in with Apple provides an account identifier and the email address Apple supplies. If you choose Hide My Email, Apple provides a private relay address instead of your personal email address. Apple may also provide your name if you choose to share it.
We use Supabase for authentication, account storage and synchronization. While signed in, supported learner data synchronizes automatically so it can be restored when you sign in on another supported device, including a replacement device.
Synchronized information includes Journey progress, Training Points, mastery and completion, streaks and recorded listening practice. Practice records may include your answers, correct answers, results, timestamps, response times, replay counts, session and prompt information, and an app-generated device identifier. Insights uses these records to show your listening activity.
Selected preferences also synchronize, including notation clef and ink, Journey listening background, onboarding completion and introduction versions.
Not everything synchronizes. Saved chords, drone sounds, metronome patterns and timer routines remain on your device. Theme and Tuner calibration may also remain local. These items are not necessarily restored by signing in on another device.
You can use Hear This without an account. There is no separate switch to disable synchronization while remaining signed in.
Microphone and Tuner
With your permission, the Tuner uses microphone input to estimate pitch on your device. Hear This does not record or save Tuner microphone audio or upload that audio to an account or server.
Purchases
Apple processes App Store payments and subscriptions. Hear This receives purchase and entitlement information needed to enable access, such as the purchased product, access status and expiration. Access status may be stored locally for the app and widget.
We do not collect payment-card details through the app or store purchase receipts in the learner synchronization database. Purchases are associated with your Apple Account, separately from your Hear This learner account.
How we use information
We use information to provide optional accounts and synchronization, display progress and Insights, respond to support requests, maintain security, investigate reported problems and meet legal obligations.
If you contact us, we receive your email address, message, attachments and any other information you choose to provide.
We do not sell personal information or use Hear This learner data for cross-app advertising.
Website and merchandise
Our website uses Cloudflare services, including performance analytics. Cloudflare may process technical information about connections, browsers, pages and performance.
The shop loads product information and images from Fourthwall and its delivery providers, which receive connection information such as your IP address.
Your cart stores product identifiers and quantities in your browser’s local storage. These can remain after you reload or leave the website. You can remove cart items or clear the site’s browser storage. When you continue to checkout, the selected products and quantities are sent to Fourthwall.
Shipping, contact and payment information is entered through Fourthwall’s hosted checkout under the policies available in our Fourthwall store: https://hear-this-shop.fourthwall.com/
Fourthwall handles checkout, payment, shipping and order support under its own policies. We do not receive your full payment-card details. If you contact us about an order, we use the information you provide and relevant order information available through Fourthwall to help with your request.
Service providers
Supabase provides account and database services. Apple provides app distribution, sign-in and purchases. Cloudflare provides website services. Fourthwall provides merchandise services.
These providers process information under their applicable terms and privacy policies. Our production learner database is hosted in the United States. Other provider processing may occur elsewhere.
Retention
We retain account information and synchronized learner data while your account remains open, including during inactivity, unless you request deletion. Information may also be retained when necessary for security, legal obligations or disputes. This is not a guarantee of indefinite service or storage.
We retain support correspondence for at least 12 months to follow up on issues and requests.
Diagnostic copies received for a Tuner investigation are deleted within 30 days after the investigation closes, unless needed for an unresolved dispute or legal obligation. This applies separately from ordinary support correspondence.
Service-provider logs and recovery backups have separate retention practices. Deleted information may remain in backups until those copies expire or are removed. We do not promise immediate removal from every backup or a fixed retention period for provider logs.
Merchandise records may be retained for fulfillment, support, accounting, disputes or legal requirements.
Account deletion and your choices
To request account deletion, open Settings, select your signed-in account, choose Delete Account and confirm.
The app sends an authenticated request to remove your account and associated synchronized learner data. After confirmed server success, it clears that account’s local learner history, pending synchronization and sign-in session on that device. If the request or local cleanup fails, follow the retry guidance or contact support.
Account deletion does not cancel an Apple subscription, erase unrelated guest or other-account data, or necessarily remove saved device-local tool collections or older diagnostic files. Manage subscriptions through your Apple Account.
If the app advises that Apple sign-in access also needs removal, follow its instructions in your Apple Account settings. Deleting your Hear This account does not guarantee that Apple authorization has been revoked.
You may contact us about access, correction or deletion of personal information, including information remaining in support or order records. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. Additional rights may apply depending on where you live.
Children
Hear This is a general-audience music-learning product and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without appropriate authorization.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards intended to protect information. No system can guarantee absolute security.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as Hear This evolves. We will update the date above and communicate material changes when required.
